Poll Results: The Democrats and Republicans are trying to negotiate the next Coronavirus relief package, but they are in a stalemate in the negotiations. What do you think they need to do?

Last week, we asked readers, “The Democrats and Republicans are trying to negotiate the next Coronavirus relief package, but they are in a stalemate in the negotiations. What do you think they need to do?”  Six hundred and seventy-eight of you responded, with 48.08% (326 readers) saying that “The Republicans should not give in. The Democrats are trying to pay off their allies by wedging in non-coronavirus bailout money into the bill.”

This was closely followed by “President Trump should ignore Pelosi and Schumer and do as much as he can through executive orders to help the American people,” which had 42.33% (287 readers) of the vote. The remaining 9.59% (65 readers) said that “The Congress needs to come together and pass a bill immediately to aid those Americans who have lost their jobs.”

Many Americans are demanding aid as soon as possible, but Congress and the White House have not settled on an agreement yet. It is possible that any one of these three poll options could come true in the near future.
