What Newt’s Reading Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner Tony Bobulinski is cooperating with the FBI and Senate committees. -Newt FBI Asked Hunter Biden Business Partner Tony Bobulinski for Interview, GOP Senator Says By Jerry Dunleavy Washington Examiner Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said last week that Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner, Tony Bobulinski, is being interviewed by the FBI and his committee and that the Senate Finance Committee will interview him soon afterward. Bobulinski has released texts and emails suggesting that Joe Biden and his brother, Jim, were involved in a lucrative business deal with a Chinese tycoon connected to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that Hunter helped orchestrate. Bobulinski has also claimed that a 2017 email from James Gilliar, an associate of Hunter’s, shows that Joe Biden planned to hold a 10 percent equity stake in a business deal between a Chinese company and Hunter Biden. The Chinese company involved was the China Energy Fund Committee, a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate founded by Ye Jianming, a CCP-connected tycoon with whom Hunter Biden had worked in the past. At a press conference in Nashville, Bobulinski mentioned that Joe Biden was intimately familiar with his family’s business plans with China and that his family had tried to keep his involvement a secret. In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, Gilliar said that he was unaware of Joe Biden’s involvement in those projects. The Biden campaign has denied Bobulinski’s claims. It is why Black Americans are more enthusiastic about voting for President Trump. -Newt Trump Cleaned Biden’s Clock on Race By Marc Thiessen Washington Post President Trump was the big winner of the final presidential debate between him and Joe Biden, landing blows that damaged Biden’s standing among the black community — a constituency he desperately needs to win the election. When asked about the fears of black and brown communities in the United States, President Trump highlighted his record, including opportunity zones to raise investment in minority communities, securing long-term funding for historically black colleges and universities, prison reform, and criminal justice reform. He then proceeded to hammer Biden, saying the former vice president did nothing for the black community during his career except the 1994 crime bill, which many black Americans view negatively. Following moderator Kristen Welker’s question to Biden on whether the 1994 crime bill was a mistake, Trump hit Biden for putting thousands of black men in prison. In response, Biden cited the number of pardons the Obama-Biden administration handed out to convicted federal prisoners and blamed his inaction concerning the race issue on gridlock caused by congressional Republicans. The problem with that argument is that Democrats held a supermajority in Congress during the first two years of the Obama-Biden administration — and could therefore pass any legislation that they wanted. It’s worth noting that Biden has less support among black voters than Hillary Clinton had four years ago. In late May, only 68 percent of black voters between the ages of 18 and 29 say they would vote for Biden, down 17 points from 2016, according to a CNN poll. The backing of every major police organization will help drive more Democrats to vote for Donald Trump. -Newt Trump’s Blue Line Could Breach Biden’s Blue Wall By Red Jahncke Wall Street Journal In the first presidential debate, President Trump challenged Joe Biden to name a single law-enforcement organization that had endorsed him. Biden could not name one, highlighting the fact that police groups are endorsing Republicans up and down the ballot, often by large margins. The Fraternal Order of Police, (FOP) the nation’s largest police organization with 355,000 members, voted unanimously to endorse President Trump at the national level. Other police groups, such as the National Association of Police Organizations and the International Union of Police Associations, have also endorsed the president. In the 35 US Senate and 11 gubernatorial races this year, only three Democratic candidates have received major police endorsements, including two races where the Republican opponent has received an endorsement from another police group. John Krupinsky, president of the Connecticut FOP, said that there is only one party that represents the interests of law and order. His group endorsed nearly every Republican running in races for the state legislature. In an ideal situation, law enforcement would be non-partisan, but when one party vilifies the police, cops are going to notice. An Iowa farmer whose image was used on a recent campaign mailer from Democratic Senate nominee Theresa Greenfield revealed that he supports the Republican opponent, Sen. Joni Ernst. -Newt Iowa Farmer Featured on Greenfield Mailer Says He Supports Ernst By Collin Anderson Washington Free Beacon An Iowa farmer who saw his image used in a campaign mailer sent out by Democratic Senate nominee Theresa Greenfield revealed that he actually supports Republican incumbent Sen. Joni Ernst. Chad Kuntz, the farmer in the image from Oakville, Iowa, said that the mailer was not a “genuine depiction” of an Iowa farmer and was a “sham.” While Greenfield has tried to portray herself as a scrappy farm kid from Minnesota, she has failed to gain the support of the three largest agricultural organizations in the state — the Iowa Farm Bureau, Iowa Corn Growers Association, and Iowa Cattlemen's Association, all of which have endorsed Ernst in the race. Kuntz mentioned that the Democrats court farm voters by citing their support for ethanol while also advocating for the death tax and burdensome regulations. Kuntz clarified that, while he did not have any legal concerns regarding the image, he would have appreciated a “courtesy call” from the Greenfield campaign. In the last few weeks, a PAC associated with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has raised $36 million for Greenfield’s campaign and Senate Majority PAC communications director Rachel Irwin peddled a fake email claiming that the Farm Bureau had revoked its endorsement of Sen. Ernst. Economic policies set forth during the Trump administration have far exceeded projections from the Fed and most economists. -Newt The Trump Boom Is Real By Lawrence B. Lindsey Wall Street Journal Alan Blinder recently claimed in an op-ed that crediting President Trump for the surge in employment during his presidency was a “convenient myth” and that his economy was simply a continuation of the recovery put in place by Barack Obama. Blinder’s claim is misleading because, after any recession, it is easy to add new jobs while, late into a recovery, adding new jobs is much more difficult. In 2016, the Federal Reserve projected that 2018 would end with 4.5 percent unemployment, while unemployment actually fell to 3.9 percent that year. Similarly, in 2019, the Federal Reserve predicted an unemployment rate of 4.5 percent, while unemployment fell to 3.5 percent, a multi-decade low. In contrast, during the Obama administration, the Federal Reserve had to revise its 2009 unemployment projections upward the next year by 0.6 percent for 2011 and 0.8 percent for 2012. The 2009 GDP estimate also overstated the 2011 GDP by a substantial 2.6 percentage points. In sum, the Obama recovery consistently undershot the Federal Reserve’s projection in terms of GDP and unemployment rates while the Trump administration has always exceeded expectations. The Federal Reserve’s estimates have always overvalued the importance of fiscal and monetary stimulus while undervaluing the significance of Trump’s deregulation and reducing the cost of capital. Despite Mr. Blinder’s assertion that the 2017 tax cut was “highly regressive,” Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation stated that the tax cut was proportional to after-tax income, making it a progressive measure.
