Last week, we asked readers “Should the Senate Vote to Fill a Supreme Court Vacancy Weeks before a Presidential Election?” A huge number of readers responded with a total of 2,706 votes cast. Readers were overwhelmingly in favor of the Senate filling the vacancy, with 98.89% (2,676 readers) voting “Yes” in response to the question.
The remaining respondents were split between “No” it should not be filled with 0.89% (24 readers) and “Undecided” with 0.22% (6 readers) of the vote.
The filling of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s spot on the Supreme Court has been the subject of much debate since she passed away on Sept. 18. Democrats are currently hoping to block President Trump’s nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, until after the election. The debate will no doubt continue in the coming weeks and possibly even after the election ends.
