Joe Biden, Hollywood, and Giving More Power to China

The Bidens once again find themselves in the center of another possible scandal this week, with president-elect Joe Biden under scrutiny for his possible embassy picks and their ties to communist China.

Disney’s Bob Iger and Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg are on the list of potential ambassadors to China, despite their ventures with the country during Biden’s tenure as vice president, resulting in millions of dollars in profit.

Those in the political world have been quick to respond to Biden’s dangerous appointment prospects. Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin tweeted that these choices “would be rewarding the worst corporate kowtowing to Beijing,” while Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) commented that it “is a great way to destroy the growing bipartisan consensus on the CCP’s egregious human rights abuses.”

Many worry that Biden’s empowering of the Chinese Communist Party would undo all that President Trump has done to keep them in check the past few years. China’s violations of human rights continue to proceed as they seek to grow more powerful.
