Charity of the Month: Gary Sinise Foundation

This November, the Gingrich Foundation is proud to designate the Gary Sinise Foundation as its Charity of the Month for the organization’s important work in helping veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families.

The Gary Sinise Foundation was established in 2011 under the philanthropic direction of actor Gary Sinise, a 40-year advocate for our nation’s defenders. The foundation creates and supports unique programs designed to educate, inspire, and strengthen veteran and first responder communities.  The foundation also offers wide-ranging programs to support those overcoming trauma, injury, and loss.

The foundation’s mentorship retreats connect newly wounded heroes with mentors and counsellors who have successfully adapted to and overcome their challenges. The foundation’s Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment (RISE) program helps provide injured veterans and first responders with accessible housing, vehicles and other necessities which are adapted to their specific needs. Finally, the foundation’s H.O.P.E program supports military and first responder families dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters.

For decades, Sinise has visited our nation’s wounded service members in hospitals, at home and overseas, including in remote combat locations. He has seen first-hand the difficulties faced by recovering heroes and the impact on their loved ones.

The harrowing experiences of war and trauma leave an indelible impact on our defenders. When they return to civilian life, the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges they face are difficult. The Gary Sinise Foundation works to heal these wounds and help America’s heroes once again enjoy life.

We hope you will join the Gingrich Foundation this November in supporting the Gary Sinise Foundation.
