NEWT:

Well, first of all, there’s this effort by the left almost every election cycle to rig the polls. So if you look inside them, you suddenly discover, for example, that they have 20% more Democrats than they should or they are using people who aren’t going to go vote so you have to watch these polls carefully. People like Trafalgar for example which has had a very good record of being accurate just came out and said JD Vance is clearly ahead in Ohio and that Dr. Oz is within 3 points of Pennsylvania and those are the two races people looked at this is going to be a big problem. I think the challenge for the Democrats is simple. It’s called reality. Between now and the election gasoline is going to be too expensive, food prices are going to continue to go higher, people are going to experience all that as inflation. That’s their number 1 concern, the murder rates are going to remain way too high. You have in Pennsylvania, for example, the Democrat Fetterman, has been chairman of parole commission said he would like to release a third of all the prisoners in Pennsylvania. This is a state that has a huge crime wave in Philadelphia. You have crime waves in the whole country. And I think when you look at the combination of 2 million people crossing the border illegally, the effort of the Democrats not the hire more border patrol but to hire 87,000 IRS agents how does someone like Mark Kelly go home and explain to Arizonans he didn’t vote for a single border patrol, but he voted for 86,000 IRS agents. They are not going to control illegal immigrants, but they are going to control us. I thinks as the issues clarify in September and October, the Democrats are going to melt down and my guess it’ll be a tsunami. You’ll have speaker McCarthy, and you’ll have majority leader McConnell and I’d be very surprised if that wasn’t the outcome.

NEWT:

Look, I think if Mitch could, he would take that back because he knows as the head coach of the senate Republicans you don’t go out and talk about how you have somebody on your team who is not very good. You go out and encourage them, you exert them and in fact, he’s done just that. He just put I think $34 million into Pennsylvania to help Memet Oz who is going to beat Fetterman, Fetterman is the most radical candidate in the country. Which is saying a lot, he’s for the legalization of heroin, he’s for destroying the gas and oil industry in Western Pennsylvania, he’s for releasing criminals, if you go down Fetterman’s list, in the end Oz is going to beat Fetterman just based on the weight of Fetterman’s radicalism. But McConnell, look, I’ve given many interviews I regret. I suspect McConnell would like to take that one back, but his actions indicate he’s all in to try to elect the senate candidates.

NEWT:

Well, I just think, look, Oz had a very, very rough and tumble primary as you know because you covered it. His major opponent put about $40 to $50 million in negative ads, so Oz came out of that in a hole that he has to dig himself out of. Fetterman had no serious opposition to everybody’s surprise and has been hiding because he had a stroke and is now — he’s only had one campaign event which lasted 11 minute so he is hoping nobody will notice. But the fact is when you look at what Fetterman stands for and you look at the basic common sense of the Pennsylvania people, they are not going to vote for unemployment in the west and they are not going to vote for crime in the east and they are not going to vote for radicalism in the area called the T which is Laster county, Harrisburg and up through the mountains.  So, I think in the end this will come back and oz will win and may win by surprising margin.

NEWT:

Look, I worked with Reagan in 80 when we picked up control of the senate and 94 we gained ten governorships, so we picked up control of the senate as well as the first house majority. My position is very simple. If you talk about big issues, Republicans are going to win. If you let Democrats drag you down into junk, they have a chance of survival. So, the more we talk about big issues — I love, for example, Marcey Capter in Toledo running an ad in which she’s attacking Biden. The fact is her voting record is 98% with Pelosi and Biden. So, she’s got to hope that the voters don’t notice the gap between what she did in Washington and what TV ad says. This is happening all over the country. Mark Kelly won’t say he wants Biden campaign for him. Yesterday I did a tweet calling for Mayorkas, when a guy tells you the border is secure and there have been over 1800 opioid deaths in Arizona alone, there are 2 million people crossing illegally, I mean Mayorkas ought to be fired. Frankly Republicans in congress ought to be demanding that they be fired.

NEWT:

Right. You have to assume this is not incompetence, that the left believes in open borders, they want the largest possible number of illegal immigrants. You have to believe that’s a key part of structure, you know, again in the case of Fetterman, he’s called for sanctuary cities, he would probably make Pennsylvania a sanctuary state. But the fact is if you’re a normal everyday American and you look at the murder rate, you look at the flash mobs that are going one like the recent ones at the 7elevens it’s the breakdown of civilization and the left doesn’t seem to care, in fact seem to be in favor of the breakdown. This is not incompetence; this is a socialist big government that I think is profoundly wrong.

NEWT:

Yes. There’s no question about it. He’s on tape saying it. He did an interview with The Nation in which he said all drugs should be decriminalized. Which I presume means fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, all drugs. That’s how radical Fetterman is.
