Charity of the Month: Autism Society

The Gingrich Foundation

In honor of National Autism Awareness Month, the Gingrich Foundation proudly recognizes the Autism Society as its April Charity of the Month.

The challenge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has grown at an alarming rate in the last few decades. Notably, it is the nation’s fastest-growing developmental disability.

One in 44 children born today is expected to develop some form of ASD. In 2004, the rate was one in 69 children. An estimated 1 percent of the world population is on the autism spectrum, and the numbers are only growing.

The Autism Society is the nation’s preeminent organization dedicated to improving the lives of all individuals affected by ASD.

Founded in 1965, the Autism Society has worked to promote awareness and provide resources for those with the disorder and their loved ones.  With partners across the United States, the Autism Society has increased public understanding about autism — knowledge that can be critical for early diagnosis.

The organization constantly advocates for the best services and care for affected individuals and families. The Autism Society has continued its work to protect this vulnerable population and ensure that those with ASD have the resources they need to get through this difficult time.

The Autism Society does vital work to improve lives and promote the dignity of everyone affected by ASD.

Please join the Gingrich Foundation in supporting the Autism Society.
