Here’s a sighting we might be seeing for awhile. Earlier this week a Yeas & Nays spy caught GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich with his wife Callista outside near Union Station. They were with a group of people, who looked to be staffers. And they were with a man wearing an elephant costume.
Gingrich wasn’t representing the Republicans or currying favor with the furry vote, the elephant mascot was actually promoting Callista’s forthcoming children’s book “Sweet Land of Liberty,” which explores history using the character Ellis the Elephant. Children everywhere can begin reading about Ellis the Elephant’s adventures on Sept. 26.
