Parents are distraught about the ongoing impact of the nationwide baby formula shortage months after the crisis began. While the FDA finally admitted to its late response, parents called for action amidst continual scarcity and higher prices.
The FDA reportedly said staffing shortages and poor training were to blame for the tardy response. The commissioner said that the organization has minimal ability to coerce companies to “do the right thing” without intervention.
American parents, however, believe something should have been done sooner.
