The New York Post reports that Wollman and Lasker ice skating rinks in New York have been closed by Mayor de Blasio. These rinks have given New Yorkers respite from the isolation of the pandemic, but de Blasio decided that Trump’s ownership of the rinks made their removal necessary.
De Blasio could have postponed their removal until after winter when their contracts were up, instead opting to punish Trump, and New Yorkers by extension.
