The Epoch Times reports that a white professor at Smith College in Massachusetts, Jodi Shaw, has resigned due to “a racially hostile environment” caused by “social justice initiatives.”
Shaw said that “[i]n this environment, people’s worth as human beings, and the degree to which they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, is determined by the color of their skin.” In Shaw’s case, being white was something for which to apologize.
Smith College has not apologized for its actions, instead proclaiming that Shaw does not speak for the community at large. Shaw’s speaking out marks a positive development for pushback against anti-racist ideology in the classroom.
