Buck Sexton: What’s Up with the Radio Silence from the Media Regarding Florida’s Handling of COVID-19 After Months of Barraging?

Sexton notes that COVID-19 cases in Florida have declined by 50 percent over the past two weeks while avoiding blanket mask or vaccine mandates.

On “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show,” co-host Buck Sexton questioned the sudden disappearance of Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis from media headlines regarding COVID-19. The point is, of course, that criticizing a state can only go so far, especially when infection rates drop tremendously. Sexton said, “[w]e knew it was absurd, [t]hey were scoring cheap political points, when we all know there is a seasonality to the virus.”

Sexton noted places such as Hawaii and New York have implemented stringent COVID-19 policies, whereas Florida did quite the opposite and allowed common sense to be the driver of coronavirus protocol. For example, Hawaii’s Democratic Gov. David Ige implemented the Safe Travels Program, which requires that tourists test negative before traveling to the state as well as a mask mandate. In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio is enforcing a vaccine passport mandate that requires individuals to present proof of vaccination to enter restaurants, shops, and theaters.

Sexton further notes that COVID-19 cases in Florida have declined by 50 percent over the past two weeks while avoiding blanket mask or vaccine mandates. Sexton’s co-host, Clay Travis, said that the Sunshine State has become “[a] [threat] to the Blue Checkmark Brigade [on Twitter] and to the Anthony Faucis of the world [and] the Biden administration.”
