It seems that voting Nancy Pelosi to lead as Speaker of the House wasn’t the only questionable action during the opening of the 117th Congress on Sunday. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s (D-MO) prayer during the meeting was met with much confusion and mockery from Americans as he closed it with “amen and awomen.”

While an ordained preacher like Rep. Cleaver should know that amen translates to “so be it,” he and other Democrats instead have chosen to observe Nancy’s Pelosi’s new agenda instead. Speaker Pelosi’s enforcement of non-gender specific language in the House has been met with lukewarm reception to say the least.

The absurdity of the situation is almost hard to believe as progressives feel the need to be politically correct even when they are plainly incorrect. It is worrying indeed that such people are representing Americans in the government when they can’t be bothered to understand the origin of a Hebrew word.
